The Downtown Knit Collective is a knitting guild that meets monthly in downtown Toronto (U of T area). The almost 200 members are inter-generational, come from a wide variety of backgrounds and bring a wide range of knitting skills from novice to master knitter.
Why join? Love of knitting and fibre arts draws people to a guild that advances the art and community of knitting, but the benefits reach far beyond.
Membership Fees are Modest

Lively Meetings with Fabulous Speakers
Show Off Your Latest Project or See What Others are Knitting
Meetings start with Show and Tell, an opportunity for members of all skill levels show off their latest “finished objects” to inspire us all with their creativity.
Need Help with a Challenging Project?
Dr. Knit aka Denise Powell is there for you at every meeting. She can cure any knitting disease.
Learn and Get Inspired!
There is lots of inspiration at the DKC – from speakers and from other members. And if you want to perfect or learn new techniques there is no better place.
And Then There is the Toronto Knitter’s Frolic!
This is the DKC’s biggest event, a market place full of knitting vendors and two full days of workshops (discounted for members).
All meetings, events and workshops are governed by the DKC’s Rules of Conduct. Members are asked to read and understand these rules.
Memberships for the 2014/2015 year will go on sale in August.
Your membership card will be ready for pick-up at the next meeting.
Alternately, you can come to one of our meetings, fill out a membership form, and pay your fees by cash or cheque made payable to the Downtown Knit Collective. Your membership will be effective immediately.
