Toronto’s Downtown Knit Collective is a knitting guild dedicated to advancing the art of knitting through the sharing of ideas and techniques, education and community involvement
Our monthly meetings are always lively and we have a special speaker every meeting. Past guests have included Sally Melville, Debbie New, Lucy Neatby, and many others. Try your luck at our monthly raffle for yarn, books, and other goodies donated by local stores and distributors. For our viewing and shopping enjoyment, vendors set up tables and offer yarns, books, patterns, and kits. And for those struggling with an unforeseen challenge, Dr. Knit (aka Denise Powell) is available before every meeting to help untangle your knitting problems.
Outside of the meetings, we also have workshops and special events such as our annual spring Knitter’s Frolic – a full day of workshops, shopping, and sitting around with like-minded individuals. We are also involved in special projects like “Knitting for a Cure” and “Relay for Life”.
Join us at our meetings. Everyone is welcome!
